Hotel Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and hands-on Hotel Operations Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our 43 bedroom, independent hotel.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional who enjoys working closely with guests and staff and takes pride in delivering high standards of service, cleanliness and hospitality.

 

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the hotel while maintaining a welcoming environment for both guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the hotel.

  • Lead, support and motivate the hotel team.

  • Ensure consistently high standards of guest service and satisfaction.

  • Prepare staff rotas and manage staffing requirements.

  • Recruit, train and develop team members.

  • Monitor cleanliness, presentation, maintenance and health and safety standards.

  • Manage stock, purchasing and relationships with suppliers.

  • Monitor daily revenue, cash handling and operational costs.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety, fire safety, employment and licensing requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve hotel operations, guest experience and profitability.

  • Be visible and hands-on in the hotel, supporting the team wherever required.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in hotel or hospitality management.

  • Has strong leadership and people-management skills.

  • Is passionate about delivering excellent customer service.

  • Has excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Is confident dealing with guests, staff, suppliers and contractors.

  • Can work calmly and effectively under pressure.

  • Has good commercial awareness and an understanding of hotel operations.

  • Is proactive, reliable and able to work independently.

  • Is flexible and willing to take a hands-on approach in a small hotel environment

NIGHT PORTER
  • Hours: 3 nights per week

  • We are currently seeking to recruit a reliable and diligent Night Porter to join our NP team at

  • An Grianan Hotel. As a Night Porter, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and

  • security of the hotel and its guests during the night shift

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting guests and handling check-in/check-out procedures

  • Monitoring and patrolling the hotel premises

  • Responding to guest requests and inquires

  • Setting up and cleaning meeting rooms and event spaces

  • Operating and monitoring the hotel’s security systems

  • Assisting with basic maintenance tasks

  • Working with the Bar team at functions

Skills and Experience
  • Previously experience in a similar role is essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to following procedures

  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations

HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
We are looking for a friendly, professional, and organised Hotel Receptionist to join our Front of House team
Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome guests and provide excellent customer service

  • Answer phone calls, emails and booking enquiries

  • Handle reservations and process payments

  • Resolve guests queries and complaints professionally

  • Maintain accurate guest records

  • Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisation and computer skills

  • Use of Protel (or similar) package

  • 3 years previous reception/customer service experience

  • Ability to work flexible, shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Positive attitude and professional appearance
